Summer is coming...
After a long 2022, grab ya sunnies and take the load off with our new Summer LAN hosted in Brisbane, Queensland. Welcome back to the Summer Brawl! 😎
Based on feedback from the LAN Downunder 2022 event, player's seemed interested in meeting up again in the Summer. So here's your invitation to join up with teammates in Brisbane for some 6v6 LAN fun on Saturday Jan 14th, followed by a packed social meetup day on Sunday Jan 15th! This is a trip you won’t want to miss.
The 6v6 tournament will be using maps from the ozfortress Season 35 map pool, as well as ruleset and whitelist changes introduced in this season. There may be changes to this based off the end of season poll.
Summer Brawl 2023 will be held at the Team Bliss HQ in Coopers Plains, Brisbane QLD, you can check out the venue here.
Tickets and registration
Teams can register through the ozfortress page where the event tournament will be hosted. Once you've signed up your team or have joined one, you must purchase a Player ticket. If you do not you will be removed from the roster at the closing of sign-ups. Players will receive access to 1 PC and monitor, as well as a keyboard, mouse and headset. You are welcome to bring your own peripherals however we do not have the equipment or space for BYOC. Players must prepare a USB with their HUD and config so that it can be uploaded to the PC quickly.
Spectators also need to purchase a ticket to maintain safe capacity in the venue. Spectators will be given access to all player floors as well as a viewing area of the broadcast.
The ticket prices for Summer Brawl 2023 are:
Players: $40 AUD
Spectators: $2 AUD
Costs for social events on day two will vary, but we will keep you updated on the details for the day. All attendees are encouraged to be double vaccinated and be aware of current COVID restrictions for Queensland and any travel restrictions.
You can sign up for the CappingTV Summer Brawl 2023 from Friday the 4th of November, up until Saturday 31st of December at 11:59pm AEDT.
It's finally here (touch wood). After two years of chaos TF2 finally returns to LAN and so does the LAN Downunder 2022!
LAN is an opportunity to put names to faces and create new friendships. It's also an opportunity for some intense 5 ping Team Fortress 2 action, broadcasted with a live audience! LDU 2022 will be held on the Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July 2022, returning to the GIC Esports Arena in Melbourne. Thanks to our new partnership with Marketplace.tf and continued support of Qixalite, we now have a confirmed prize pool of $2,000 AUD!
This year, all attendees must have received at least two doses of an Australian Government approved COVID-19 vaccine prior to entry. Checks will be done at the door and anyone who does not have proof will not be able to enter. Please check the Services Australia page for more information on valid proof of vaccination. At this time masks are not required but this is subject to change pending future outbreaks.
The LAN Downunder have teamed up with ozfortress to utilise their tournament system. On the ozfortress website, captains can create Teams using the "Start Team" button on the Teams page. Once created, captains can invite players to the team. Team invites are shown on a player's profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your name next to the bell on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Teams provide a pool of players that can be signed up for a tournament. Players may be in the pool for multiple teams but only one active roster for any given tournament. Captains may sign up a roster for tournaments under the league page.
If you're new and not sure how to get started, don't fret! Check out the #recruitment section of the ozfortress Discord where you can express your interest in joining a team, or peruse potential players to form a team of your own. Teams are normally comprised of one Medic, one Demoman, two Soldiers and two Scouts. If you're new to the competitive scene, click here for an introduction to ozfortress!

In cooperation with ozfortress, we've now added an Offline specific section to the ozfortress ruleset. Please take some time to have a read of them so you are ready for the day. The schedule is available here, times are subject to change based on registrations.
For more information check our FAQ or join our Discord. Sign ups are open now and will remain open until Sunday the 19th of June at 23:59 AEST. This will give the administration team time to check capacity with the venue and prepare the tournament. Don't miss out on this opportunity to play on LAN!
