Leading into Season 32, there are some changes and additions we felt were needed for the infractions team to effectively deal with cases, particularly for repeat offenders. Along with this, we've also added a Tier 1 for Public allegations of cheating with the same public purview as the rest of the infractions. There are appropriate avenues of reporting suspect players, and public allegations do nothing but harm that players reputation. Below you can see the additions/changes:
- "Adminstrators reserve the right to infract or ban the player based on the offence." changed to "The Infraction team reserves the right to infract or ban players based on the offence, including offences committed whilst that player is already serving an infraction and/or ban."
- "Public allegations of cheating - see here on how to report someone" added to Tier 1.
The aim of the additions made that further outline the ability and purview of the infraction team is to better allow them to deal with outlier cases (typically more egregious cases or repeat offences), whilst making it immediately clear that repeat offences, whether or not they are during an active ban, can and will be punished accordingly.
We have also updated the public points of contact for the infraction team, which can be seen on the Staff page. Please note, not all of the changes listed above have been propagated live on ozfortress.com as of yet, but will be prior to the commencement of Season 32.
We would like to thank all players for their submissions and continued feedback and support for the infraction system.
Thank you,
The ozfortress administration team
EDIT:
Removed vague clause at the end of the "The Infraction team reserves the right to infract or ban players based on the offence" sentence. The goal of that was not to be vague nor a blanket approach.
The ozfortress seasonal league returns! Returning from a very busy offseason we're ready to get back into the action!
The map pool for OZF 32 will again be comprised of nine maps and certain maps will be played once during the regular season with other maps being played twice. This season the map pool is remaining the same as the map pool from OZF 31, with some slight adjustments, namely in updates to Refresh versions of maps. Clearcut will be returning, but with only one week of play, with Product now being played in two weeks. We've decided to make this change as Clearcut and Product both received very similar approval, with Product edging out the ratings in the poll. We're also seeing the return of Refresh Gullywash as the poll rating between the two versions placed Refresh at a 75% lead. Going into future seasons we will be putting much more focus on providing better ways of collecting map feedback on the polls for map authors, and ensure those results are forwarded to authors.
There will be four or five skill divisions in OZF 32. The brackets we will feature are: Premier, High (pending signups), Intermediate, Main and Open! Both Premier and High (or Intermediate in the event of a four-division season) will have a round-robin group stage while the bottom divisions will consist of a Swiss group stage. All brackets will continue using the Page Playoffs format. Grand Finals for Premier shall be played as a no-advantage best of five, while all other division's Grand Finals will be a best of three. Premier and High (or Intermediate in the event of a four-division season) will have eight teams while the other division's sizes are pending signups. Depending on the number of signups we receive for OZF 32, we may adjust the number of skill divisions after signups have closed.
During OZF 32 we plan on conducting random demo checks to ensure players are recording demos. Please ensure that you are recording match demos in order to avoid punishment.
Transfers will continue to be completed on a bi-weekly basis referred to as "Transfer Windows". The system will allow admins more time to review and accept transfers.
We will also be featuring no new plugins on ozfortress servers for OZF 32. All plugins used for OZF 31 will remain in place, but we will not be introducing more at this stage.
This season we will also be experimenting again with the forfeit all matches on disband setting. Previously, if a team disbanded during the season then all matches that they had already played would turn into forfeit wins for the other team. This season all match results from a disbanded team will stand, and no matches will be retroactively forfeited. This was also in place for OZF 31 and OZF 30 but we were unable to thoroughly test it during those seasons.
All server booking will continue to be done through ozfortress discord. Simply join the #bookings channel in the ozfortress Discord and type /book and details of your server booking will be PM'd to you. To view more commands, type /help in the #bookings channel.
On the ozfortress website, captains can create Teams using the "Start Team" button on the Teams page. Once created, captains can invite players to the team. Team invites are shown on a player's profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your name next to the bell on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Teams provide a pool of players that can be signed up for a tournament. Players may be in the pool for multiple teams but only one active roster for any given tournament. Captains may sign up a roster for tournaments under the league page.
If you're new and not sure how to get started, don't fret! Check out the #recruitment section of the ozfortress Discord where you can express your interest in joining a team, or peruse potential players to form a team of your own. Teams are normally comprised of one Medic, one Demoman, two Soldiers and two Scouts. If you're new to the competitive scene, click here for an introduction to ozfortress!
Please ensure you have enough backups to last the season; teams are allowed a maximum of ten players rostered on for any single tournament.
You can sign up for ozfortress season 32 from Sunday the 26th of September, up until Wednesday the 6th of October. We aim to have seeding out by the 9th of October with the season starting on the 10th of October, however, this is subject to change. This gap between the closing of signups and the start of the season is to give the administration team more time to seed. ozfortress season 32 will begin on Sunday the 10th of October.

Coming along with the Head Administration changes, we will also be seeing some staff team changes. First of all, from all of us in administration, we would like to say farewell and thank you to Thermite. Over his time with us, he has administrated ten seasons of ozfortress, and dozens of off-season competitions. We wish him the best of luck in the future!
Effective immediately, catfish will be taking over as the Head of Anti-Cheat, and again we would like to thank obla for all of his work in the role over the years. With the loss of both catfish and Thermite from league administration, we would like to welcome aboard three new staff members to the administration team. Give your warm welcomes to fez, Chimes & a team of ants in their prime! Being announced following the departure of two titans of administration is hard, but we are sure they are more than capable and ready for the next season and beyond.
Thank you for the warm reception,
core.
