CappingTV Summer Brawl 2022

Oh well, guess we'll stay here for now. Welcome to this year's CappingTV Summer Brawl! Teams will compete over two days in three divisions - Premier, Intermediate and Open with a mixture of previous and new maps.

Day 1 will consist of a Swiss Stage, with each match a best-of-one and maps preset. On Day 2 the top four teams will head into a grueling Single Elimination finals to determine this year's summer champion! The CappingTV Summer Brawl 2022 will run between the 15th and 16th of January.

The map pool for this Summer Brawl will comprise of maps from ozfortress Season 33 as well as two new Refresh maps of Metalworks and Gullywash. These maps feature quality of life changes to the maps we all know and love, you can find out more about them at their TFTV threads here and here.

A small prize pool of $500 will be offered for Premier teams.

As the schedule for this tournament is tight, teams must be ready with at least 5 rostered players in the server by the round start time. If a team is more than FIVE minutes late, your bracket's league administrator MUST be contacted and a forfeit win will be recorded. DO NOT DELAY YOUR MATCH AS A COURTESY TO A LATE TEAM. ONE DELAYED MATCH DELAYS THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT. Note that 5CP matches can go for 40 minutes with a Golden Cap, so this must be followed closely.

Qixalite servers will be used for this competition, and will be available for booking from the CappingTV Discord. Be sure to be in there for ease of communication.

On the ozfortress website, captains can create Teams using the "Start Team" button on the Teams page. Once created, captains can invite players to the team. Team invites are shown on a player's profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your name next to the bell on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Teams provide a pool of players that can be signed up for a tournament. Players may be in the pool for multiple teams but only one active roster for any given tournament. Captains may sign up a roster for tournaments under the league page.

The ruleset for the CappingTV Summer Brawl differ slightly from the ruleset used in the regular seasonal leagues. Be sure to have a read of the changes to make sure you are up to date. These have been outlined in the FAQ. If you have any further questions, message a tournament administrator.

This event will be broadcasted live from the GIC Esports Arena in Melbourne, if you're local and want to game as a team, the venue will be open for any TF2 players. You can view the Twitch stream here.

If you're new and not sure how to get started, don't fret! Check out the #recruitment section of the CappingTV Discord where you can express your interest in joining a team, or peruse potential players to form a team of your own.
