Demo Recording Rule Changes
To better our league's Anti-Cheat, we will now be able to request POV demos from ANY match played on an ozfortress server - official, scrim, pug game or otherwise. Whilst we understand there will be some apprehension to this change, it is only happening because we feel it will contribute to improving the league. Scrim POV demo requests will be worked into the existing failure penalties. Unlike official match POV demo requests, the first penalty for failing to provide a scrim POV demo is a warning. After this, the next second penalty follows the same guidelines as the official match POV requests, meaning that if you fail two scrim POV demo requests you will receive a six-month ban. It is important to note that we will not conduct random demo checks for any match that isn't an official match. This means that if you receive a request for a POV demo from a scrim or pug, it is related to an active Anti-Cheat report.

There's a chill in the air which means it must be time for our Winter Competition of Highlander to get underway. For our seventh season of ozfortress Highlander we'll be implementing some changes to assist the flow of competition.
You can find all our new rule additions and changes below.

Signups

You can sign up for Highlander Winter '24 from Sunday the 2nd of June 2024, up until Friday the 21st of June 2024. We aim to have seeding out by Sunday the 23rd of June 2024 at the latest, before the season starts. The season starts Wednesday the 26th of June 2024.

Please fill out the Signup Agreement template found in the dropdown below and put it in your Signup Application when signing up your team.

Signup Agreement

By signing up, you acknowledge that you may be placed in any division the administrators deem fit for your roster, and thus your entire team should be reasonable in their expectations on division placement. We will endeavour to let teams know of changes in initial seedings before the final release. Please ensure you specify the division you truly believe your team should be in, this will make it easier for administrators to consult with you on your seeding. Along with selecting your desired division, please also list who you expect to play, and what class/role. We have a template below, please include your completed template in your signup application.

Staff Updates

It's with immense gratitude that we are saying goodbye to one of the most diligent and generous admins we've had on our team Oldcustard. Custard has been with us since Season 2 of ozfortress Highlander. Through the past four seasons, he has not only assisted in running our seasonal leagues but has also provided players with servers for teams to play their matches on. It's been a pleasure working alongside you and we wish you nothing but the best.

This season we'll be bringing in a couple of new faces to assist in running our Winter competition. Coming aboard as some of our first new Trial Admins will be redja and woozy, who will be shadowing our current admin team of hive, Kai, Rainy and myself (Sperkle) throughout the season and helping out where they can.

Reminders

  • During Highlander Winter '24, we plan to conduct random demo checks to ensure players are recording POV demos. Please ensure that you are recording match demos to avoid punishment. You can do this via the in-game demo system following our guide which you can find here.
  • If you are unsure if something is considered a game exploit, contact a League Administrator for clarification. Ignorance is not an excuse.
