ozfortress Ultiduo returns with Ultiduo 17!

ozfortress Ultiduo makes its return during this off-season between our seasonal leagues! The 17th iteration of Ultiduo run by ozfortress, aptly named Ultiduo 17, will be a one-night cup that is the first part of our Autumn Action this off-season. Over the 16 iterations of Ultiduo we have seen countless duos compete to fight it out for glory, and we hope that Ultiduo 17 will be no different.
Signups
You can sign up for ozfortress Ultiduo 17 from now (Sunday the 21st of May) up until Thursday the 25th of May 2023 at 11:59PM AEST. We aim to have seeding out by late Friday the 26th of May with the cup live on Saturday the 27th of May.
ozfortress... BBall???
Our Autumn Action off-season features not only Ultiduo, but also for the first time in ozfortress history, BBall. BBall will be the part two of our Autumn Action off-season, and will be hosted at the same time slot on the following weekend (June 3rd 2023), following the same schedule and format as Ultiduo 17. Signups for BBall will open in a few days time!
Future Cups & Tournaments
In the past, we mentioned our desire to move away from the standard one-night cups we had run in the past, but we're looking to rethink many current season and cup formats going into 2024, and Ultiduo 17 felt like the perfect place to start! In future off-seasons, we will be looking to run more than one cup, in fact we are looking to keep smaller cups as a regular thing, but also work to run a multi-week tournament in every off-season as well! While we aren't entirely sure what form it will take yet, we hope that before 2024 you will get to see a little more of what we have planned. Next year will be a big year for ozfortress.
Format Details
Right, back to Ultiduo talk. For Ultiduo 17, there will be atleast two skill brackets, Division 1 and Division 2 (and Division 3/4 if needed). Unlike Ultiduo 16 where we reformatted it as a multi-day cup, we are looking to return to the single-day format and scheduling used in Ultiduo 15, meaning Ultiduo 17 will be a one-night cup more reminiscent of the cups of old. You can find the schedule for Saturday the 27th on the Schedule page, linked at the top under "Helpful Links".
All matches will be a Best-of-1 in a Swiss system format. However, the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final will be a Best-of-3. Unlike Ultiduo 15 where the top 8 teams were seeded and the rest randomized, we will be seeding all teams to the best of our ability given the time constraints. We hope this will offer a fairer, more competitive, and more fun match experience. We encourage players to join the ozfortress Discord as important announcements will be delivered via the platform on the night.
Ultiduo_OZF_r returns!
We will again be using our freshly rethemed ultiduo_ozf_r, updated and rethemed by popular community mapper and past administrator skaz! Be sure to checkout ultiduo_ozf_r, available to download here or above! Please note, the map has not updated since Ultiduo 16.
Match Procedure
When each round starts, matches will be generated. Teams will need to communicate who will be booking the server, with the base expectation that the Home team will book the server (see the Booking guides under the Helpful links at the top of the page for more information on how to book). Teams will need to both load the map, and execute the config before playing. We have allowed for extra time between matches, but the scheduling will still be fairly tight.
Please start each game as soon as possible as there is a tight schedule, and delaying will delay the entire cup. If the other team has not shown up five minutes after the server has been booked, message an administrator to claim your forfeit win. Please DO NOT delay for the other team as a courtesy.
After the match is over, please submit / confirm the scores IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MATCH IS OVER. Posting of logs is not mandatory but logs will be used for solving disputes.
Bookable Servers
Server Booking Guides can be found at the top of this page under "Helpful Links". This time around, there will be 10-12 servers available via au.serveme.tf for players to use. Thanks to Rhizome, you can also book and use a Rhizome server using the same commands below.
Setting up your bookable server

These commands will work on both ozfortress and Rhizome servers.
By signing up, you acknowledge that you may be placed in any division the administrators deem fit for your roster, and thus your entire team should be reasonable in their expectations on division placement. Please ensure you specify the division you truly believe your team should be in, this will make it easier for administrators to consult with you on your seeding. Along with selecting your desired division, please also list who you expect to play, and what class/role. We've left a template below, please include it in your signup application's description.

On the ozfortress website, captains can create Teams using the "Start Team" button on the Teams page. Once created, captains can invite players to the team. Team invites are shown on a player's profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your name next to the bell on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Teams provide a pool of players that can be signed up for a tournament. Players may be in the pool for multiple teams but only one active roster for any given tournament. Captains may sign up a roster for tournaments under the league page.

- During Ultiduo 17, we plan on monitoring to ensure players are recording demos. Please ensure that you are recording match demos in order to avoid punishment.
- If you are unsure on whether or not something is considered a game exploit, contact a League Administrator for clarification. Ignorance of the ruleset is not an excuse.
