Prior to the start of OZF 27, we are implementing several changes to the infraction system and seasonal league ruleset. These changes will be implemented immediately, and all players are expected to follow these changes during OZF 27.
INFRACTION CHANGES
The first major change is the addition of another tier two offence, General bigotry/use of derogatory slurs. We will now be infracting ozfortress players for bigotry and use of slurs. All ozfortress players are representing ozfortress as well as the competitive scene at all times, and we expect players to uphold the values of inclusivity that we represent. The second major change is the adjustment of the point total for a one-year ban. A one-year ban will now be given to a player once they acquire 60 infraction points. This has been brought down from the previous 70. This change has been made in response to the number of two-year bans that were issued in 2019 that were not preceded by a shorter ban. In light of this change, we are also removing the rule that "all Tier 3 infractions will be will be multiplied by the number of times committed". Several other minor changes have been made, see below for the full list of infractions for 2020. These new adjustments will not affect any preexisting bans.
Another significant change we are implementing is a community behaviour submission forum. Much like the Anti-Cheat forum, all future community behaviours submissions will go here rather than directly to administrators. To submit a post, follow the template and submit your report in the correct location. The community behaviour submission forum can be found here.
The new list of infractions can be found below:
Tier 1 Offences - 10 points (6 months expiry)
- Repeated delays in match organisation
- Inappropriate or unrelated posting in match threads
- Excessive trash talk (beyond that which can reasonably be considered banter)Tiers 2 Offences - 20 points (1 year expiry)
- Any attempt to deceive or mislead administrators
- Any attempt to deceive or mislead players or captains
- Impersonating ozfortress players without permission
- Interference with an ozfortress match
- Discrimination of any kind (Sexism, Racism etc.)
- General bigotry/use of derogatory slursTier 3 Offences - 30 points (2 year expiry)
- Serious or repeated abuse of any kind
- Sharing of sensitive or personal information without permission
- Attempting to impersonate or imply affiliation with members of the ozfortress anti-cheat panel
- Attempting to deceive community members by impersonating a member of ozfortress staff
OZF 27 CHANGES
Failure to submit demos upon request will now initially result in a two-week match suspension for first time offenders. If a player fails to submit demos for a second time, they will receive a two-year ozfortress ban. All players are expected to record demos. Ignorance is not an excuse.
We are also adjusting the pick/ban system for BO3 matches in OZF 27. The new process is as follows:
- The higher seeded or home team will either choose to ban first or defer.
- The first team (determined by the result of step one) will ban a map.
- The second team will ban a map.
- The first team will ban a map.
- The second team will ban a map.
- The first team will select the first map from the remaining pool.
- The second team will select the second map from the remaining pool.
- The first team will select the tiebreaker map from the remaining maps.

Thank you to all players and spectators, we'll see you for ozfortress season 27!
The ozfortress seasonal league is back again in 2020! As per usual, the league will be run using the highly successful Warzone. Whether you're a hardened veteran of the scene or a newcomer to 6v6 TF2 there will be a place for you in ozfortress season 27 and we hope to see you there!
The map pool for OZF 27 will again comprise of nine maps and certain maps will be played once during the regular season with other maps being played twice. This season we're seeing the departure of the controversial Prolands and the ever-popular Kalinka. In their place we're adding the new iteration of Reckoner as well as Bagel. Both of these maps are familiar faces around ozfortress and we're looking forward to seeing how they integrate into the map pool.
This season, we will also continue with the four bracket system that was met with very positive feedback in OZF 25. The brackets we will feature are: Premier, Intermediate, Main and Open! Both Premier and Intermediate will have a round robin group stage while the lower two brackets will consist of a Swiss group stage. All brackets will continue using the Page Playoffs format. Grand Finals for Premier shall be played as a no-advantage best of 5, while Open and Intermediate Grand Finals will be a best of 3. Premier and Intermediate will have 8 teams while Main and Open's bracket size is pending signups.
During OZF 27 we plan on conducting random demo checks to ensure players are recording demos. Please ensure that you are recording match demos in order to avoid punishment.
This season we've also adjusted how we are handling transfers throughout the season. For OZF 27 we will be trialling a new transfer window system. This will see transfers be done every two weeks rather than every week. We're hoping that this system will allow admins more time to review and accept transfers.
All server booking will continue to be done through ozfortress discord. Simply join the #bookings channel in the ozfortress Discord and type /book and details of your server booking will be PM'd to you. To view more commands, type /help in the #bookings channel.
In Citadel, Captains can create Teams using the "Start Team" button on the Teams page. Once created, Captains can invite players to the Team. Team invites are shown on a player's profile, which can be accessed by clicking on your name next to the bell on the top right hand corner of your screen. Teams provide a pool of players that can be signed up for a tournament. Players may be in the pool for multiple teams but only one Roster for any given tournament. Captains may sign up a Roster for tournaments under the League page.
If you're new and not sure how to get started, don't fret! Check out the #recruitment section of the ozfortress Discord where you can express your interest in joining a team, or peruse potential players to form a team of your own. Teams are normally comprised of 1 Medic, 1 Demoman, 2 Soldiers and 2 Scouts. If you're new to the competitive scene, click here for an introduction to ozfortress!
Please ensure you have enough backups to last the season; teams are allowed a maximum of 10 players rostered for any single tournament.
You can sign up for ozfortress season 27 from Sunday the 19th of January up until Wednesday the 29th of January. We aim to have seeding out by the 1st of February with the season starting on the 2nd, however this is subject to change. This gap between the closing of signups and the start of the season is to give the administration team more time to seed. ozfortress season 27 will begin on Sunday the 2nd of February.
