Sixes Spring '24 Changes

We're hard at work cooking up the changes for this season, but we need some time to flesh them out. We hope to get a post regarding all of the changes out within the week, with a few changes many players will be happy to see!

For now, however, we have released the Spring Sixes' Map Pool, Key Dates, Transfer Windows, Division Admins and Round Bans that carried over from last season and/or the off-season.

We can spill the deets on one change you don't have to wait for: our move to a two-season map review system. We will be looking to make changes to the Map Pool once every two seasons for Sixes, starting this season. This means we will be carrying over the previous season's Map Pool, with Bagel being updated to RC10. We understand some may be apprehensive about this change, and we go into further detail when our changes post arrives. Briefly: with maps only being replaced every two seasons, ideally newer maps will remain in the pool for longer, with more survey data supporting the map selection decisions we make. There has been an age-old pattern for map voting in the end-of-season surveys where the core pug maps are often the only maps to see consistent voting metrics, with less favoured maps (often not new maps however), seeing fluctuating and often inconsistent numbers season-to-season. In past seasons, we have made attempts to try hold onto some maps for as long as we can, especially newer maps, often than just cycling out x new map within one season, then maybe seeing it in 5-10 seasons' time once again. Don't worry, if there is resounding "please god no, not that map" feedback for a particular map, you won't see that map. We hope to give maps with potential more time to simmer, garner feedback and hopefully let the map maker cook.
