Prize Pool for Sixes Spring '23

We are excited to announce a prize pool for the Premier division of Sixes Spring '23! This season will feature a $600 AUD prize pool to be spilt between the top three placing Premier teams. The distribution will be as follows:

  1. $360
  2. $180
  3. $60

A thank you to multi for donating $300, and to all of our Patrons, past and present, who helped us match this donation.

Whitelist and class limit changes

After a fierce campaign from the Premier division, the Loch-n-Load has been banned. As this leaves a big hole in some of our hearts, the Detonator and the Gas Passer have been unbanned to fill the void. Additionally, in the interest of parity with other regions, the Sniper class limit has been reduced to 1.

Introducing the Progressive Ruleset Timer plugin

After its success in Experimental Cup 2, the Progressive Ruleset Timer will be implemented across all divisions in Sixes Spring '23. If you are unsure how this plugin works, you can read about it on the Experimental Cup 2 page here. Players raised concerns about the length of games as a result of the plugin, so this season we are reducing the Map Timer to 25 minutes and will be monitoring the impact of this change.

Premier format changes

The good news keeps coming for Premier! As suggested (and then voted for) by the Premier community, Premier will feature a bottom four playoff bracket in Sixes Spring '23. The bottom four playoff bracket will not impact the traditional playoff bracket whatsoever, but will provide these teams with additional rounds of practice as they further establish themselves within the division. There was also interest for us to implement the Pick/Ban system from Experimental Cup 2 in Premier this season, however we have elected to leave this for a future season. Additionally, we hope to explore evolving the bottom four playoff bracket in future seasons.

Experimental Cup 2 poll results

You can see some changes as a result of this poll, and the full breakdown is in the pipeline.
