What is the format of the ozfortress winter league 2021?

The ozfortress winter league 2021 will have multiple divisions. At this stage we are estimating anywhere between three and five divisions. Team will play one best of three per week, with each official using a pick/ban system.

Why is the cup using this format?

We've opted for this more intense format for those still currently stuck in areas with COVID-19 restrictions, limiting what they are able to do over the holiday period. Our goal is to provide a tournament for those who are afflicted with lockdown boredom.

What is the maximum amount of players per team?

In the ozfortress winter league 2021, there will be a limit of 10 players per roster.

Will there be medals?

At this stage, yes. We will be using the standard ozfortress seasonal league medals.

Can my team use a mercenary?

Yes, standard mercenary rules apply.

Will transfers be granted during the ozfortress winter league 2021?

No. The roster you sign up with will be the roster you have for the entire tournament. Transfers will not be granted under any circumstances, teams must make sure they have enough players to last for the whole duration of the tournament.

Will this tournament affect the dates of ozfortress season 31?

Yes. It is currently expected that ozfortress season 31 will start and end several weeks later than usual. At the moment we are expecting it to end in mid-December however these predictions may change.

ozfortress administrators are responsible for the smooth running of the ozfortress seasonal league. Remain in constant contact with them regarding team issues and potential team instability. They are also available to clarify anything about the rules or procedures of ozfortress competitions.

The following people are available to solve issues in your division, however for simple issues we strongly recommend that you refer to the ruleset. From here, your own division's administrators should be your first point of contact, however if your administrators are not available, others may be able to help.

This global whitelist is part of an initiative to unify the international leagues. We will be using the September 2020 edition of the global whitelist.

New items added to the game during the season will be banned until the next season. Modification of weapons will be evaluated by the administrative team. Taunts which are silent and/or toggle-able have been banned.

It is the responsibility of the player to not use these weapons in matches. The whitelist not loading or loading incorrectly is not an excuse for using banned items.

PLAYOFFS

All divisions will be using single elimination semi finals with the top four teams of each division going through to semi finals after the group stage.

FORMAT

Much like regular ozfortress seasons, the ozfortress winter league 2021 will feature weekly matches for teams over the course of three weeks. However, teams will be required to play one best of three match per week instead of the typical two maps that is seen in standard ozfortress seasons.

All matches in the ozfortress winter league 2021 will utilise a pick/ban system. The pick ban format will be as follows:

1. The higher seeded or home team will either choose to ban first or defer.
2. The first team (determined by the result of step one) will ban a map.
3. The second team will ban a map.
4. The first team will ban a map.
5. The second team will ban a map.
6. The first team will select the first map from the remaining pool.
7. The second team will select the second map from the remaining pool.
8. The first team will select the tiebreaker map from the remaining maps.

Please note: cp_mannbase_b19a, cp_process_f8, koth_product_final and koth_clearcut_b15d are custom maps. If you don't already have these installed, please click the links above to download them, and then move them to your ..\Team Fortress 2\tf\download\maps directory.

The voting threads for the end of season awards have now been posted! The votes must be sent through to skaz (skaz#4670) or samson (samson#5103) in a Discord PM using the correct formatting by Monday the 2nd of August at midnight by every team captain. Failing to do this will prevent your votes from counting.

Only captains to vote. Please submit with 3 votes for EVERY category. You only have to do the division your team participated in.
