ADDITIONAL RULES
As the schedule for this tournament is tight, teams must be ready with at least 5 rostered players in the server by the round start time. If a team is more than FIVE minutes late, your bracket's league administrator MUST be contacted and a forfeit win will be recorded. DO NOT DELAY YOUR MATCH AS A COURTESY TO A LATE TEAM. ONE DELAYED MATCH DELAYS THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT. Note that 5CP matches can go for 40 minutes with a Golden Cap, so this must be followed closely.
Pauses are allowed for player issues but must be short. Pauses lasting for more than 3 minutes are not allowed under any circumstances, and any team may not pause more than twice. If a sub is not able to be found, you must continue playing with 5 players. If you drop below 5 players for more than three minutes, the match will be recorded as a forfeit loss. If everyone on the team is dead, only then can Steam messages be used. Breaking pause rules will result in disqualification.

On behalf of the ozfortress administration team, we'd like to wish everyone a happy new year and a happy holidays! Thank you everyone for an action-packed 2018 and we're excited to see you all again for an even better 2019!

Match
Congratulations to Jasmine Tea on winning the OZF 23 Premier Grand Final against xeno.
The Premier Grand Final was between the two teams who had been at the top of the leaderboard for the majority of the season. Jasmine Tea picked Logjam, the newest map to be added to the map pool for this season. The first and second rounds went to Jasmine Tea after a conving mid win and a succesful double-kill from Geoh playing spy with the revolver. With Uber advantage Jasmine Tea rolled into last and won the round. The second round was much closer, as xeno won the mid with both Medics surviving. After a failed second push from xeno, Jasmine Tea pushed them all the way back to their last. Jasmine Tea failed to convert the round however and found the rolls reversed with xeno trying to push into last. Jasmine Tea pushed out with Uber advantage and were able to force xeno back to their last. With Uber advantage Jasmine Tea managed to capture the point and win the round. xeno scrounged out two rounds after another back and forth affair, however Jasmine Tea were able to turn the aggression on xeno and take another three rounds, making the score 5 - 2.
Gullywash was the next map. The map started with both teams trading points. The first round went to Jasmine Tea after 9 minutes of intense fighting, with a failed push being salvaged by Paulsen killing the Soldier on last and capturing the point while xeno were trying to capture their second point. Jasmine Tea took the next round convincingly. Again, xeno took the next two rounds after a long stalemate at mid and after almost wiping Jasmine Tea at the midfight. Jasmine Tea again won the next two rounds convincingly, however xeno responded with another round win of their own. With two minutes left xeno needed to win the next mid convincingly in order to force the map into a golden cap, however the defenses of Jasmine Tea were too strong, and Jasmine Tea took the map 4 - 3 and putting themselves up two maps to zero in the series.
The third map was Prolands, picked by Jasmine Tea. The pressure was on as xeno needed to win this map in order to stay in match. The first round did not go as planned for xeno, with them being wiped at mid. Jasmine Tea quickly took advantage of that and rolled into last to secure round one. After two failed last pushes Jasmine Tea was able to push xeno right back to their last. xeno were unable to hold off the momentum of Jasmine Tea and the next round went to Jasmine Tea. Dispite winning the next two mids, Jasmine Tea were able to take control of the map off a Medic pick at mid and convert the next two rounds. The match was looking dire with xeno needing to win 4 rounds in 12 minutes. Possible, but difficult. There was a lot of back and forth action, much to Jasmine Tea's delight, slowly taking the clock back to make it impossible for xeno to win the map. After a monstrous 42-frag performance from lams, the map ended 4 - 0 in favour of Jasmine Tea. They were able to take the series 3 - 0 and are your ozfortress season 23 Premier champions!
Thank you to all the players and support staff that helped make this season possible! Stay tuned for A Midsummer Night's Cup 2019!
