ozfortress Ultiduo 20

Ultimate Duo returns with Ultiduo 20!

ozfortress Ultiduo returns, however, it stands alone as our only cup for this off-season.

Signups

You can sign up for Ultiduo 20 from now, until Thursday, the 4th of June 2026. We aim to have initial seedings out by Friday, the 5th of June, ideally 10 PM AEST at the latest, but that is tentative and could change. As always, Ultiduo will be on a Saturday, Saturday the 6th of June 2026. This does mean Ultiduo 20 will be a one-night cup.

   SIGN UP TO ULTIDUO 20!

Please note: We will seed your team based on both players, regardless of who is playing Soldier or Medic.

Reason for One-Night Scheduling

We ran a pre-cup survey some weeks ago with a question asking players whether they would rather see the typical one-night cup scheduling, or two-night scheduling. The rest of that was 63% voting for two-night scheduling. However, with the late notice for this Ultiduo and the short signup period, we are opting to go with one-night scheduling to keep it manageable for us, and easier to lock in time for you and your duo! We discuss further scheduling changes below!

Captains Discord

For Ultiduo 20, we'll be enforcing the use of our Captains Discord. If you aren't sure what that is, you are either a new or returning player (or just enjoy living under your comfy rock, we get it), so we'll give you a quick rundown. For two years now, we've been using the ozfortress Team Captains Discord alongside our seasonal leagues and competitions to instantly connect teams when their match pages on ozfortress.com are generated, giving them an avenue of communication to instantly get the action organised. There are some advantages to this approach of course - we can monitor these chats, issue reminders, and are instantly reachable here with a simple role ping!

For Ultiduo 20, both you and your duo partner (regardless of who is a captain) will need to join this Discord. You can find a link to the Discord in the buttons at the top of the page (under Cup Details). Once you join, please apply for the Ultiduo Captains role in #setup.

As mentioned above in the signups section, Ultiduo 20 will be our typical one-night scheduling, not two-night scheduling. Additionally, Ultiduo 20 will be starting one hour earlier than past Ultiduos! Make sure to check our Schedule & Resources page to make sure you're prepared! It is your main and only page needed for Ultiduo info on the day!

As seen in Ultiduo 18 & Ultiduo 19, we will be seeing the Solemn Vow and Disciplinary Action.

Ultiduo 20 will not have medals - as such, we'll be reverting the roster changes made in Ultiduo 19, so the maximum roster size is back to 3.

Player Substitution

If prior to the event (the deadline will be 3 PM Saturday the 6th of June), you need to replace a member of your duo, please ping the @Ultiduo Staff role within the Captains Discord and we'll work with you to get that done, but please note it may affect the seeding of your duo!

Mercenaries?

Mercenaries will only be allowed if it is absolutely necessary. To request a mercenary, you will need to ping the @Ultiduo Staff role within the Captains Discord and await approval from an administrator.

ozfortress' Ultiduo competitions have always been using our own Ultiduo map that has seen updates over the years (now `ultiduo_ozf_r`), but with Ultiduo 20, Ultiduo in ozfortress will see the return of:

This will bring our total maps to three, but we have four rounds before playoffs, so what's the fourth map? Well, we wanted to try out a new Ultiduo map that some of you may have already seen. We're running a poll in #tf-discussion of our Discord to decide between two maps, Signal & Furnace.

See the schedule page for what maps are being played when!

The Ultiduo ruleset was introduced for Ultiduo 18 to make it a little clearer to players, new and old, what rules from our regular rulesets applied to Ultiduo, and we think it helped, so we'll be keeping it, with some minor updates. See our Ultiduo ruleset here.

Match Procedure

When each round starts, matches will be generated. Teams will need to communicate who will be booking the server, with the base expectation that the Home team will book the server (see our Book a Server guide to learn how to book). Teams will need to both load the map and execute the config before playing. We have allowed for extra time between matches, but the scheduling is still tight.

Please start each game as soon as possible, as there is a tight schedule, and delaying will delay the entire cup. If the other team has not shown up five minutes after the server has been booked, message an administrator to claim your forfeit win. Please DO NOT delay for the other team as a courtesy.

After the match is over, please submit and confirm the scores immediately. Posting of logs is mandatory.
