copy paste of rules:

The first round of 32 duos will duel on Tuesday 1st April. The 16 who progress will duel on Wednesday 2nd of April, and the finals will be on Thursday 3rd of April.

forfeited coz admin decided to change rules -i know it's your comp but still....i had planned my night according to that previous post.

those rules are wrong then. last ultiduo it was one side of the comp down to finals. the frontpage post with all the information this morning also mentioned left side of comp. and then you and micko were told before 8pm that it will be more then one round. if you knew you couldnt play the second round, then you should have pulled out.

they won by forfeit for second round because of a misunderstanding.

regardless, i doubt hj/micko would have beaten bowt/nesk anyway.

if you think that merk - why bother with matches at all. - just advance dogz players into finals

onions, please find and paste irc log where anything was said in main channel prior to 20:30 that there would be two rounds?

i've accepted the forfeit no problem - all i was doing was stating my perspective on this, and hate when admins start saying things like above

reminds me a tad of Binstar and Adam

That's a bit bullshit, you guys should let hj / micko have their match. They'd scheduled their GA match for last night based on whatever rules had originally been posted, and obviously they couldn't reschedule or pull out of GA.

Doesn't matter if you think nesk / bowt probably would have won.

the original post that hj quoted was worded wrong, we did this comp the exact same way we did last time. GA is no excuse arc, as we delayed the comp a lil to slot him in at the end, but he chose to go scrim instead

@hj: micko was well aware of the fact there were 2 round being played. edit: also i dont keep logs, this isnt the CIA.

@arc: minirum and shenkz swapped with a team on wednesday because they knew they would not be able to make it. why didnt hj/micko do that?

The ultiduo2 draw was posted at 28·3·2008, 22:48 by psyfox in http://ozfortress.com/showthread.php?t=26193
Which clearly shows that the leftside of the competition was to be played on monday. This was posted before Slappa's post "Sunday 30 March 2008, 10:38pm" which states the a v pnp resched.

But either way it would not of mattered, as the reason hj was unable to play his second round was not because of the GA final, it was because of the scrim which followed.

There can't be a quick makeup game tomorrow during the right side? Seems like an elementary compromise in a community which so recently united in arms against similar decisions in the game arena ladder.

The option for a make up game was offered to the teams, and rightfully it was turned down by their opponents. They waited patiently around for the a v pnp match to finish only to get a "nah gonna scrim instead" from hj/micko.

The only person here who has the right to feel betrayed is micko. He could have slutted hj with someone else and been able to play throughout if he was fully aware of hj plans.

Nesk and I had no problem waiting until your GA final match against PNP was finished, then after that we could play our duel.

Instead you decided to play in a scrim on dustbowl...

I did my best to try to work around the GA Match by organizing the dv8 guys to play first game - I was unaware that there was another map after granary and despite the doubts of the possible outcome it still would of been good sportsman ship to play nesk/bowt, i had no option but to forfeit due to my absent partner

it is disapointing that the match wasnt played, and we should have been more specific. Next time we will be. Next time you'll be required to be available for the entire time so that this issue wont occur again.
