This short tutorial will show you how you can get your steam id!
(there is a couple ways to do this i will only document it one way.)

Updated: http://steamidfinder.com

Step 1 : Launching Team Fortress 2 -

a) Firstly launch the game from "My Games" tab in steam.
b)Once you in the game you will want to select "Options" from the menu on the left.
c) A new screen will appear and you will want to then select "Keyboard" tab then clicking advance button down the bottom. which will which up 2 check boxes.
d) the top one is optional but you need to have the "Developer Console" Enabled shown in Figure 1.1

e) Once you have done this you may now "OK" out of these screens.

Step 2 : Getting into a server and getting your ID

a) Once you are back to the main screen you will want to select "Find Servers"
b) New window appears and you will want to find a server with a small amount of players or even one with no players is better. once you have found one you will then connect to the server and wait for it to load, seen in figure 2.1

c) Once you have joined the game you will want to press the "ESC" Key to bring back to the menu.
d) Now press the "`" key which is also the "~" key shown in the picture below.

This will now bring up the console window where you can type various commands.

e) Type "status" into the text box below then clicking the "Submit" button.
f) Now in the console window will display some information. you will want to locate your name and find your steam id in the line of text after it.
g) Now highlight from where it says STEAM_X:X:XXXXXX then right mouse click and choose copy shown in figure 2.2

Depending if you joined a server with people or without will depend on the amount of names shown after issuing the command "status" - just make sure you are getting the right steam ID.

h) Now you may exit the game proceeding to open ozfortress.com

Step 3: Adding the Steam ID to your profile on ozfortress

a) Login to ozfortress.com and then proceed to select the "my settings" shown in figure 3.1

Now this will load a new page and some options will become available to you.

b) Now you will want to select "steam ID" from left plane menu, which will load a new page.
c) On this page you will right mouse click in the text box and select paste or "Ctrl +V"
d) Once your steam ID is in there correctly you may choose "Save Changes" shown in figure 3.2

Once you have selected "Save Changes", the page will refresh and it should look like picture shown below

Thats it!!!
Post here if you are having further trouble finding your Steam ID

What antivirus/spyware do you use? and what category was it listed as?

it uses .net framework / connects to registry and opens a file in read thats all it does.

Also, instead of joining a dedicated server, choose the create server option from the main menu, then follow the other steps

Wow, great thread. Thanks for saving hundreds of people like myself setting up annoying threads which say "How do I find my steam ID?". I also learned how to get the console up too! Thanks mate.

For those of you that don't have source games installed (unimaginable, I know), here's a site that'll find it for you using your profile ID:

anyone else hesitant to click that? Although quite possibly it is legit.

But really, if you don't have any source games, then what are you doing here?
