I have perfect ping in normal au servers usually around 50. However, everytime I go on a ozfortress server I get constant 190 ping. I experience it alot in tf2c lobbies where ozfortress servers are used. My internet speed is pretty fast.

I do not know why this happens. People in my region get perfect ping but I don't. Help me please

Can you post the output of a traceroute to our servers? The command is

tracert 119.15.96.156

If the speedtest is any indication, you're living in dunedin.. I know of a few people who are having routing issues to random servers from dunedin (me included). The culprit seems to be hops on VOCUS servers and most of the time it is remedied by using a tunneling software such as wtfast

but yeah post a traceroute here like shrak said to confirm my suspicion of your latency issues.

Sorry I assumed you were on Windows, on Mac the command would be traceroute instead of tracert. But it looks like you got it.

This issue has happened a few times in the past as well. In short, your traffic to ozfortress (and any other traffic to Australia that travels through Vocus) is taking the scenic route via California, due to a configuration error at either Vodafone NZ or Vocus.

We will pass it up the chain to see if there is anything we can do, but it's likely the problem is with Vodafone NZ (as otherwise more players on different NZ ISPs would have the same issues with high ping) and so you might have more luck contacting your ISP support.

What did they say? Email or phone call? Might be worth opening an email ticket so we can see what they are saying back.

Pro tip, switch to myrepublic when you can.

In the meantime, try wtfast or another tunneling service. Wtfast is a gaming one but really any tunneling vpn with servers in Australia could work.

Also would you recommend myrepublic over 2degrees? been looking to switch asap before i get fiber installed by the end of the year, looking at whats the best isp for gigabit plans. Currently on slingshot

E: looking at their plans myrepublic do seem a lot better, I've just never really heard much or seen much of them
