CONGRATULATIONS Cash Money

Match Thread

Congragulations to Cash Money for winning ozfortress winter league 13 premier finals! After a fairly clinical 4-0 to Cash Money on Viaduct, Granary was a bit closer with a 5-2 to Cash. Cash Money came through the upper bracket with confidence, beating MASIF in the nailbiter of an upper bracket finals, abet ending in a disappointing forfeit. Cash did come back in force for this with a great display to take home the trophy.

As a casual observer, it is interesting to note after having a look through all the log parser details regarding contributions to team with kills and damage and things, that Yuki seems to be over looked in the scout award category?

Looks to me like he had a dominant season.

Is it cause he's expected to be the best and everyone is sick of seeing his name on the sidebar?

I guess it boils down to what do you consider "best".

If it's meant to be best and fairest then you're right, but I stats do actually mean everything when it comes down to being the best.

If it was really close in the stats i could see it being a bit more subjective but from an external person that isn't involved with the personalities it looks like an absolute stomping by Yuki.

You win by capping points not getting frags, that makes it a bit difficult to judge the stats in this game.

was fun but the last round of gran was anticlimactic - seemed they were just on tilt.

Out of interest, what quantifies "best" in your world, ronnie? Is it all purely subjective? I guess it could have been a donkey vote by a team, probably pays me back for all the times I did it l0l. wh0 cares I guess lm40z0rz

Glad to see we were able to put on a decent game despite the multitude of class/role swaps during the season

yuki is a great player and would also deserve the award if that's how everyone voted..

however according to your logic, if you look at stats for a team that stomps another team 5-0 5-0 you would conclude that all the players on the team are the "best". stats give a decent indication of what happened during the game (one team gets rolled) but doesn't really do much justice to how effective an individual was for their team.

Maybe he sacrificed himself at the right times and opened up the space for his team to be effective and win etc. Point is that looking at stats purely should not be the mechanism that is used to determine the best player as there are many other factors involved, which may or may not be reflected accurately in stats.

Anyway good job to everyone, it was an entertaining season to watch and I hope great players such as yuki stick around.

The awards don't mean anything anyway... it's basically a popularity contest filled with people who throw donkey votes.

In prem once upon a time yeah, this was true. But in recent seasons I would say the prem awards have been pretty indicative of the truth (for the most part). It's relieving to see termo finally winning best demo though... it's been long overdue.

Regardless, fun season! Can't express how much the community appreciates the admins' efforts. Also, Brodogs thank you so much for all your casting work this season. Please keep it up!

This. dunno why people care about the votes any more, it's been useless since the beginning. the only person who actually cares is yuki, guy has his resume filled with his tf2 career LOL.
