Are individual seating numbers allocated somewhere? Or do we just pick and choose within our group booking?

As far as I know, it's sit anywhere you want in the ozfortress booked area (this is how it has been previously), so as long as you show up early you have your pick of the seats anyway.

EDIT: So wzrd, you should just be able to show up early and snag a seat next to your buddy, or even save one for him, unless smiley has done some organising of seats or something (Doubt it)

EDIT 2: Ok so after looking at the ticket in my e-mail I realize it says what seat you are "in" (I think...). Can just ignore that, sit anywhere in the ozfortress area.

Not if your name is Robert Paulsen, or isn't rather. Honestly it doesn't matter when you showup, plenty of people come late, I just go early because of the fast internet and because I have no life.

One day I'll look good in a rflan photo

Probably the best lan in a while, some really close and competitive games between the two ozfort teams (and some of the other teams besides). Shoutouts to smiley and mink for driving me around everywhere all day, also a shoutout to sisky for being a great medic and making it look like I could play pocket and to lock for flying over from melbourne. Also great to see everyone else again as well, looking forward to the next one.

DM helps though :P

Seriously unfortunate that the tourney runs so late. Be good to see it start earlier, even at something like 6 or 7, and be finished by midnight.

(but hey liek mayne im not a admin so yah)

The TF2 tournament used to start at 6am on the Sunday, sometimes later (9am+) because the admin running it fell asleep. We dealt with this for about 2 years.

Normally one admin has the task of running several tournaments one straight after the other, so everything has to be perfect for the proceeding tournaments to start on time. Having to traffic and assist 450-600 people will always add unforseeable delays. It isn't like they run the tournament later because they can't be bothered running it in the afternoon - its incredibly hard work, especially when there are people who don't even know how to connect to the right servers (there's always a few).

Consider yourself fortunate it even runs on Saturday night and show some fucking respect to the admins that volunteer their time and effort (yes, it isn't paid work) for people like you throughout the entire weekend.

We try to evenly space the tournaments across the event to reduce overlap as much as we can and allow players who drop out of tournaments to play in the next one. Unfortunately, TF2 has to take the short straw as it's one of the smaller competitions at the event.

Seeker is correct, the TF2 tournament used to start on Sunday morning at 9AM (if not later) until I came onboard and changed that. I understand for a while we were running TF2 at 4PM, but sponsors have pushed us to bring CS:GO, LoL and Dota2 competitions into the prime time slots of 12PM etc. Due to natural server resource limitations, running TF2 and CS:GO at full capacity at the same time would cause issues. Usually by the start of TF2, I can shut down most of the CS:GO servers to free up resources for TF2.

Due to the complicated nature of CS:GO and BF4 tournaments in terms of server administration, I require a buffer time between FPS tournaments to ensure the next games servers are running and operational. As was the case this event, a TF2 update recently broke the LAN servers due to be out of date by 3 months causing the version of sourcemod (for LiveLogs) to crash and burn.

I do my best to ensure the tournament runs on time, but sometimes I'm at the mercy of other lanners not knowing how to join a server, "I don't have TF2...can you wait for me to download?" and Valve releasing a server breaking update hours before the tournament starts.
