Our team seems to struggle with soldiers bombing me (the medic), especially at mid. Our soldiers aren't good enough to hit middies consistently, and devoting a scout to focus more on the bomber seems to give the enemy scouts a bit too much freedom.

Everyone is usually caught up in some sort of dm by the time the bomber jumps too, leaving me to dodge and hope the bomber misses. How should we be thinking about/dealing with this?

sometimes we do a rollout with a heavy(GRU), thats good for killing jumpers

sometimes as scout its difficult to kill the jumping soldier if the enemy teams demoman stickys your train. maybe your demoman is getting smoked and making it difficult for your scout to kill that jumping soldier

maybe your medic movement is predictable - american soldiers know exactly where they are going to RJ when they go valley if they see the enemy teams medic also going valley

Our soldiers play passively, our demo and scouts play a bit more aggressively and try to make something happen. Initially our scouts try to out-dm the enemy scouts, then switch focus to whatever's been called as low.

Sadly as a team we haven't put much thought into mid fights, as in what to focus and with what.

It is important to not overreact to a bombing soldier, often this in itself is his primary goal - actually killing anything is just a bonus.

Consider a team based positional solution. When vR* was sick of dealing with 2 all-in bombing suicidal gran soldiers landing on our demoman + medic from ALIVe every rollout, we just sent our medic and primary into right, and essentially sacrificed the demoman to get a counter clean up and win the rollout overall.
