CSM2 Season Wrap Up
Six weeks ago 8 clans were invited to take part in the second season of the Clan Sports Masters, an invitational competition presented by CyberSnipa and hosted by ozfortress.com, targeting the top TF2 clans from Australia and New Zealand.
This season started with 8 new clans unseen in CSM1,
-A-,
JK,
rewound,
esm,
famous,
fray`,
we-r, and
BEASTIN all starting with hopes to take home part of the
$1450+ prize pool. Halfway into the competition this A-list of TF2 clans was quickly narrowed down to the best 4 in the country... rewound, BEASTIN, -A- and famous. famous took out 4th place going down to -A- setting up the third place match between -A- and BEASTIN which went down to the tiebeaker:
cp_badlands: 4-3
BEASTIN
cp_gravelpit: 2-0
-A-
cp_granary: 4-3
-A-
-A- then headed towards rewound for the Grand Final knowing they would have only one chance to take down the same team that had beaten them earlier in the season. The game served as what could also be a preview for ozfortress.com's owl:se competition with both clans currently undefeated in division 1 after 5 rounds. -A- succeeded taking the match 2-1 forcing a second match the following night.
cp_gravelpit: 2-0
rewound
cp_well: 2-1
-A-
cp_granary: 3-2
-A-

The second elimination match played the following night was shrouded in controversy, due to the scoring format. So much so it will be changed in future ozfortress.com competitons. However! Both teams went into the match knowing what had to be done to win, and as such it was a fair fight that rewound managed to win and snatch the CSM2 title. rewound won cp_gravelpit and seem to have a firm grip on that map over -A- winning 2-0 again for the 3rd time during the CSM2. The second and last map was cp_badlands and after a hard fought 30 mins it ended up in a draw, with rewound doing enough to take the match.
cp_gravelpit: 2-0
rewound
cp_badlands: 2-2
draw

Congratulations rewound, CSM2 winners!
A big thank you goes out to all the spectators for each match and to those doing the shoutcasts, to all the players, clans, and clan captains for making it a very smooth and easy competition to run! Hopefully we can tweak the finals scoring system with community input and create a better viewing spectacle in future finals.
A massive thank you to all the sponsors as well:
