Did you remove PVHUD and make sure that it isn't still crashing without it? I launched the game repeatedly to test changes while updating it and never saw a startup crash.

only seems to be crashing with pvhud, stock and other huds i used to test work ><

I can't either I've been tempted to "quit" on more than one occasion since it stopped being rewarding a long time ago.

At least most updates don't require much of my time.

Which main menu are you using?

the text version

I swapped main menu versions, (I was using the text version) and it seemed to stop the crashing.

  After a couple of years TF2 decided it no longer likes the padding entries at the top.

Don't know if this was Valve or not, but the damage number indicators seem to go away rather quickly, any way of lengthening the time they are there? (If possible stay there till death/respawn).

Valve broke that a month or two ago, and the numbers disappear at the same time as the ones that appear over the player you're damaging does.

I don't know if they are going to fix that or not.

how would i go about removing the borders when im in the cam thats following somone when im dead, it appears to have come back in recent updates...that or i just never noticed it till now

Re-install. Valve updated it, I didn't need to make any changes for PVHUD so I didn't release an update.

When Steam updates TF2 any files changed in the GCF will be deleted from the resource/scripts folder.

I don't have the new medigun (or any Quick-Fixes to craft it), so that'll have to wait until I can acquire it.

Hey Barrakketh! I just wanted to Point out some Potential Bugs that may be in The Current Version of the HUD (V 2.57)

Please Note: I don't know if any of these have already been reported or may be a personal problem with my Client.

Heres a Picture of My Hud with the Vaccinator Equipped:

If you notice, the Normal Uber Bar is Blacked out and nothing is shown or Visible

The Percent Number in the Middle is also Present and never goes up or down with Uber

The Uber Bar and Resistance Icon are also in the Middle Near the Crosshair (Don't Know if Intended or not, considering where the Other Uber Bar was in past Versions)

I haven't found any other Potential Bugs, but if found, you will be Notified!

As I mentioned in the post above yours, I don't have the new medigun so I can't properly update the ubercharge bars for it.

Either TF2WH will get the crafting components in stock, I get lucky with drops, or someone gives me one. Until then, I can't do a whole lot about it.

which file controls the control point capture icon?

I want to have the default one with the little x that is right next to the number of people on the point.

The "x" is removed in tf_english.txt...the file for the control point icons is ControlPointIcon.res.

The "x" is removed because with the smaller icons the number of cappers can get cropped off when it runs out of the icon.

Both the buff icons near the ubercharge % and the player health are being stubborn and not letting me reposition them. I e-mailed Valve and hopefully they'll fix that.

If not, sometime tomorrow if I manage to have some free time (early Christmas preperation for the family due to work schedules) I'm going to have to offset the position of everything for the ubercharges. This will also require removing the ubercharge percent near the crosshair (it doesn't play nice with the Vaccinator and won't hide itself).

EDIT: And before I forget, thanks to hipsterhipster (Fats, I presume) for giving me two Quick-Fixes so I could craft the new medigun. Also thanks to him for being the second person to donate anything to me (six refined in addition to the Quick-Fixes).

• Added ticks to separate the ubers, moved resist indicator below the crosshair.
• Removed the Ubercharge % below the crosshair.

If you manage to find a work around to this, I would like to know how. I've had no luck so far.

My workaround for the ubercharge (which isn't very good) was to do the only thing that worked - move the medic charge bar. PVHUD's was always bigger for the ubercharge % below the crosshair, so I got rid of that (no way to hide it) and used that space for the medic's resist.

Since the icon seems to be stuck at 0,0 of HudMedicCharge, you don't really have much freedom right now...and based on past experiences with trying to contact the TF Team I'm sure my e-mail will be ignored.

Also guys: those black bars are going away soon. I was so happy when I found a way to have them even on multiple resolutions I ignored the fact they are active for the normal ubercharge. Unfortunately I'm fighting trying to either get even spaces or a nice continguous uber charge bar at multiple resolutions.

Firstly thanks Barrakketh but continuing your support.. Really enjoy using your hud Having said that, I main medic and am finding I'm really missing the uber % in the middle of my screen.. Is there any way of being able to configure it on/off, rather than just remove it? I don't really like the vaccinator much so won't be using it. Or alternatively do you expect it just needs Valve to update something and it'll be back soon?

The simplest option would probably be for me to add it back but leave it disabled by default. Interested users could enable it and use the updater's keep function.

I main medic (500 hours as of tonight) and never really used it myself. It was there, but the meter is more useful for me as a gauge of how close I am to an uber without having to direct my attention to it.
