koth viaduct redesigned specifically to cater to competitive 6v6.

I had a several aspects in mind when redesigning the map, increased fps, debuffing the sniper and heavy, making soldiers more versatile, widening up the map to make it less chokey, the most obvious however is the change to the summer theme.

The map has increased fps anywhere from 10-80 fps depending on your graphics card and video settings. The map hasn't optimized so to speak, but several fps-robbing props were removed, as well as several textures have been replaced with lighter ones, like for example, the original viaduct had a gas tank behind a fence near the ledge entrance into spawn, now its a solid structure that's incorporated into the building. Another big boost of fps came from deleting the train on top of the map as well as getting rid of the gated off tunnel onto the side of point that leads to no where. Right now as it stands I can delete all of the trees/mountains on the outside of the map to boost the fps a bit, but it would look really ugly. If the community wants me to go ahead and delete all the stuff on the outside of the map I can do that, but it will look really awkward.

The map was also designed to make standard classes a bit stronger, and in turn debuff the heavy and sniper classes. They are still quite powerful, as the sniper still has all the sight lines from mid, as well as a few new ones by the new route into mid, but he can no longer sit safely on the bridge and snipe without being seen or spammed. Also, the new house or route behind the other team gives a way to get passed mid without getting shot or seen by the heavy. To make the soldier stronger the new route/house has been made small, to maximize splash effectiveness as well as flat to increase rocket splash area. With the entrance of the new area comes a new focus to the map, which then opens up the mountain/bridge as a more of a flank route, giving not only roaming soldiers a flank, but also scouts more areas to attack from without getting hit by splash.

There has been only one change between RC2 and RC3, which can be shown here:

Please play test both and give me feed back as to which style of house/new route you like better.

Other miscellaneous changes:
-The area around each rock by the ledges have been opened up more, so you can do the scout trick jump from ledge to ledge from both sides. (You no longer hit your head on an invisible ceiling)
-Several props removed
-Ledges/lights which soldiers hit their heads on when rocket jumping were removed
-Medium ammo pack added to middle
-Small health kit in the house
-Sniper bridge boarded off, with railings removed

fuck's sake, replacing snow textures is purely a placebo, the map just was terribly optimised to start with.

Some of the other optimisation changes are nice though.

only change that needed to be done was the whole snow theme removed ala warmfront, vanilla version bar the snow theme is fine.

the main reason is that some players are colourblind. When they play this map, they practically cant see shit (smaka)

ashville seems like a much better map
so much more depth and potential than viaduct which is inherently flawed in its layout

This is really good. You've changed the map so it supports all classes in general more and balanced everything out.
As for the extra passage, it makes Spy more viable as an offclass and the engineer can stop classes getting through it while taking some off the mid. *Dispenser blocking side passage*
