Availability: Have limited, but flexible availability. Mainly due to other commitments, like my woman, and casting. Hence wanting a back up role. If your medic is unavailable on X day and you just need someone to fill the gap, I'm your guy.

Other Info: Happy being backup, not fussed if don't get to play matches, only scrims, but I do want regular playtime.

Not the games best medic, but not retarted either. Looking for a clan that works together, rather then relying on one hero to try and save the day. Also not interested in clans who are full of shit talk.

Also I still feel bad about leaving shady and goper, (and sawry and shambo) but mostly Shady so ill need some time to grieve and drink really nice whisky.

some Costing ideas:
Merk mentioned renting servers.
Someone else mentioned payed forum access (gold coin donation?).
Payed clan rego w/ free mumble.
Players would leave.

Admining could be attended to more
Quality of the site would improve
More features
People could be permabanned (and it would mean about 2$ more :P)
Sam would make Ozfort rich.

I mean, in terms of recruiting, once I've scoured our recruitment threads I'm pretty much dry. I don't really want to recruit from other sites because people most likely want to be recruited for the competitions hosted by that site: GotGames / Cybergames.

While we see growth every year, would it be worth it to push the growth? Or better to wait, and let them come...


Some ideas:
# Recruiting to Ozfortress in public servers (even, cross game recruitment)
# Setting up a bootcamp of sorts (might work with 1st option?)
# Offering a "buy in" tournament where the winner takes all (Money would entice more people)
# Setting up a "New players only" tournament / support / section.
# Setting up "Ozfort Public" servers with a competitive-like config.


Unfortunately all of the options I've suggested are relatively manpower/money intensive, some with poor returns. I was thinking of picking up a new wireless keyboard as my current one runes on RF and there is noticeable delay when playing tf2. I've done a bit of google'ing and all i can find is the Razer Mamba (mouse) which would work fine, but there doesn't appear to be any keyboards on the market with ~1 ms response time.

I know RF is inferior to 2.4Ghz wireless but i still don't know if that would be good enough. Anyone got any recommendations for a wireless keyboard? (less delay the better) or if you currently have a 2.4Ghz wireless, could you tell me the response time or if there is a noticeable lag (i googled the heck out of this with no avail).

This was my most important play I've played in TF2 so far, played in the Ozfortress Winter League 3 Division 2 Grand Final. Defending last point on granary at 4-4, with clan mate pick saving us by backcapping this was my push from last to capture middle and then onto 4th where, through my inadequate senses (not really), our medic dies with uber. The rest can be seen in the movie :)

I don't really know the regular procedures for a new member here; I was a bit dismayed that there wasn't like an "Introduve Yourself" thread or something like that..... but I made my own, and I'll see what happens!

Originally an Xbox gamer (Halo 3 reppin'), I bought TF2 a year ago, and just recently decided to look into Australian TF2 communities. I was amazed to see such a massive community, run by Aussies!

To be honest, I really don't have a clue how things run around here, what my skill level is etc. etc. But I'm keen to get some good TF2 friends that I can enjoy pwning with :D

So yeah, I'm 16.... Are there really many people here my age? I know my friend is part of a Pro CoD4 clan, so I'm assuming there would have to be younger aged TF2 clans???

I think myself to be a pretty good Scout, Soldier and Sniper (when I'm feeling extra good). I guess I'm more looking for a social clan then a really competitive one. Like I said, I really have no idea where I sit in the grand scheme of things when it comes to skill level.

So that's me in a nutshell, I can't wait to become a hardened member of this community.
