The classic ozfortress Ultiduo is back again! On Sunday 29rd of April, duos will battle it out for the championship title!

Over the 10 iterations of Ultiduo we have seen over 450 duos compete with a lot of fun and we hope that Ultiduo 11 will be no different. We're using the classic whitelist along with koth_ultiduo_r_b7 to maintain the old-school tradition. All matches will be a Best-of-1 in a Single Elimination format. However, the Semi-Finals and the Grand Final will be a Best-of-3. The top 8 teams will be seeded and the rest will be randomized. The same two players must play throughout the tournament. Unfortunately, there will be no medals for this tournament.

If you are using an existing team, you do not have to recreate your team again! Simply sign up your Ultiduo duo using your existing team. Only one duo may sign up per existing team.

Signups:
Ultiduo 12 sign-ups will be done using Citadel, just like previous ozfortress seasonal leagues. Signups are limited to 64 teams so get in quick! Signups are open now and will close on Sunday the 29th of April at 4:00 PM AEST!
Round 1 - 7:30 PM AEST
Round 2 - 7:50 PM AEST
Round 3 - 8:10 PM AEST
Round 4 - 8:30 PM AEST
Semi-Finals - 8:50 PM AEST (Bo3)
Grand Final - 9:40 PM AEST (Bo3)
Matches:
When each round starts, matches will be automatically generated. Server strings will be posted in the match notice. This match notice will only be visible to the players of that match. The map and server configuration will automatically be loaded prior to string distribution.

Please, start each game ASAP as there is a tight schedule for the night.

After the match is over, please submit / confirm the scores IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MATCH IS OVER. Posting of logs is not mandatory but logs will be used for solving disputes.

Like always, we run a poll in between tournaments to see what the community wants. We've put in some key questions that we would like you to answer regarding whitelists as well as ozfortress infrastructure.

It would be greatly appreciated if you take the time to express your views so we can make ozfortress better!

Congratulations Premier winners Y U G I B O Y S

Congratulations to Y U G I B O Y S on winning the OZF 21 Premier Grand Final against KILLA BEEZ.

Map 1 of the best of 5 was Snakewater, which began relatively close. The KILLA BEEZ were able to create messy team fights early in the map, enabling their scouts of Cooki and Vana to have a high impact in a very close first round. However, the experience of Y U G I B O Y S prevailed as the round went on, with Paulsen able to organise his team and see off the chaotic aggression of the BEEZ and secure the first round after 13 minutes. Once organised, Y U G I B O Y S looked impossible to contain. Enrith's performance was reminiscent of a bulldozer, putting out constant damage and allowing his scouts of Geoh and Elmo to capitalise. Y U G I B O Y S were able to take the first map by a score of 4-0.

The next map was Product, the KILLA BEEZ first pick. Lau and Arnold both showed their composure on a map typically detested by medics, with strong surfs and good decision making. Redcoatzygote and Enrith both excelled, pumping out massive damage and allowing all the scouts on the server to make their presence known cleaning up off their demo's damage. However, the difference between the 2 teams was the soldiers, with Paulsen and Rocky showing excellent coordination and positioning while still valuing their lives on a scout dominant map, while SoLe and Riot struggled to contest a rampant Geoh, who finished Product with 418 DPM and 34 frags, 17 of which were on soldiers. Y U G I B O Y S closed out Product with a final score of 3-0.

With their tournament lives on the line, KILLA BEEZ threw everything at Process, a map which they excelled at in the semi-final against SVIFT AU. However, Y U G I B O Y S looked as if they would carry their momentum from the previous maps, capping out 2 quick rounds in the first 5 minutes of Process. However, the soldiers of the BEEZ had something to prove after a poor showing on Product, and both Riot and SoLe managed to find another gear. Riot's creativity with map geometry allowed KILLA BEEZ to take their first round of the series, and SoLe pencil jumped his way into the hearts of everyone watching, with the BEEZ able to snatch 2 quick rounds of their own to go ahead 3-2. From there, both teams looked evenly matched. Elmo's massive plays on the flank for Y U G I B O Y S allowed them to take back the lead with less than 90 seconds to play, but after a fantastic mid from SoLe and a quick roll to last, KILLA BEEZ were able to equalise with 5 seconds left on the clock, meaning it was time for Golden Cap. That small break before the Golden Cap was what allowed the experience of Y U G I B O Y S to shine however, as they perfectly countered the BEEZ mid that had been causing them so much grief. After a dominant mid win, Y U G I B O Y S were able to roll their full Über advantage all the way to last and win the Golden Cap as well as the series by a map score of 3-0.

Thank you to all the players and support staff that helped make this season possible! Stay tuned for Ultiduo!

Congratulations Intermediate winners carl libre!

Congratulations to carl libre on winning the OZF 21 Intermediate Grand Final against roleplayers v2.

This first map in this series was Product, the pick of carl libre. carl libre started off strong on their map pick, winning the first round and giving up the point to roleplayers v2 only once. The second round was a much closer round with control of the point going back and forth between the two teams. Eventually carl libre edged out the round with just 21 seconds left on the clock for roleplayers v2. The third round was another close affair, however carl libre once again came through, winning the round, and the map 3 - 0, with signed delivering a stellar 527 DPM performance!

The next map was roleplayers v2's pick, Granary, however carl libre seemed to take control in the first round, pushing roleplayers v2 back to their last several times. Eventually carl libre successfully closed out the round. The next two rounds were extremely fast, with each team taking a round after rolling mid to last, making the scores 2 - 1 in favour of carl libre. Another successful push from carl libre pushed the scores to 3 - 1, with pressure being mounted on roleplayers v2, as they were beginning to run out of time to get rounds. roleplayers v2 eventually brought it back to 3 - 2, however with only 45 seconds on the clock after that round they were out of time to equalise the scores, leading to carl libre taking the map 3 - 2, and the series 2 - 0.

Thank you to all the players and support staff that helped make this season possible! Stay tuned for Ultiduo!

Congratulations Open winners Rocket Division!

Logs
Process - 5 - 2
Sunshine - 7 - 2
Match

Congratulations to Rocket Division on winning the OZF 21 Open Grand Final against That's Getting Shadowplayed.

The first map of the series was Process, higher seed Rocket Division's pick. The match started off with Rocket Division taking the first round after That's Getting Shadowplayed dropped Über at last to a roamer bomb, causing an immediate push into last and the point conversion. That's Getting Shadowplayed managed to pick up a round after Rocket Division scored another. The remainder of the rounds were scored by Rocket Division with That's Getting Shadowplayed managing one round to Rocket Division's four.

After losing the first map, That's Getting Shadowplayed were ready to fight back with their map pick, Sunshine. That's Getting Shadowplayed showed dominance in the first mid forcing Rocket Division back to their last. The round was quickly converted by a successful Über exchange pushing into last and completing the round in under 1 minute 30. Unfortunately that was the strongest That's Getting Shadowplayed could manage, with Rocket Division taking the next 5 rounds as Rocket Division's Pocket Soldier and Scouts were playing exceptionally. That's Getting Shadowplayed managed to sneak another round in before Rocket Division closed out the map by taking it to mercy rule, taking both maps and wining the series.

Thank you to all the players and support staff that helped make this season possible! Stay tuned for Ultiduo!
